Linking

Linking sheets, items, journals, and actors to each other, and having bidirectional relationship checking, is at the core of Campaign Codex. Each sheet allows for a variety of different elements to be dropped onto it and linked in various ways, and some context-specific drops will alter the behaviour of linking.

To link one sheet to another, simply drag a Campaign Codex sheet, journal, item, actor, or scene from their panel and drop onto an open Sheet. Campaign Codex sheets can also be dragged from the Table of Contents & Quest Board window

Actors

Actors can be linked to NPCs and Tag Sheets; they can also be used to create sheets by dropping onto other types of sheets.

NPC / Tag sheet behaviour

Dropping an Actor onto the Info Tab of an NPC or Tag sheet will link that Actor to the sheet; it will bring in the image from the Actor if it exists, and a tab in the top right of the Info page will link to the Actor.

Tab Specific behaviour

Associates / NPCs / Members Tab: Dropping an Actor with one of those tabs open will create an NPC sheet linked to the dropped Actor and link that sheet to the open sheet.

Scenes

Scenes can be linked to Regions, Entries and Locations. Drag and drop a scene from the scene panel onto an open sheet of that type to link the scene, and its name will appear in the side panel, which can be used to open the scene.

Tab Specific behaviour

Location Tab: Dropping a scene while the Location tab is open will create a Location sheet linked to the scene and link that sheet to the open Region sheet.

Journals

Journals and journal pages can be linked to sheets. Dropping a standard Foundry journal, or page from a journal, onto an open Campaign Codex sheet will link that journal to the sheet, and it will be displayed in the journals panel.

Items

Items can be linked to Entry Sheets, dropping an item will add it to the inventory panel.
